Most of the products for my august 2016 favourites are some recent drugstore finds, enjoy!
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser
This is my all time favourite cleanser, I have tried a few other cleansers but I always come back to this one because it’s totally the best. I recently picked up another bottle because I ran out and now I’ve fallen in love with it all over again. This cleanser is super gentle but it takes off a full face of makeup like a dream and it doesn’t dry out my skin like other cleansers. I’ve noticed a big improvement in my skin texture and clarity since I started using this cleanser again and I’m so happy with it!
NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment
This is my favourite shade out of the NYX Lip Lingerie line, some of the lighter shades are a bit patchy and they do end up really drying and a bit uncomfortable when you wear them for a long period of time but they stay put for hours which is really great. I have a full lip swatch post coming soon with 6 of the shades!
Rimmel ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara in Extreme Black
This product is a very close to dupe to one of my favourite mascaras, the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I love the intensity and the volume this product gives to my lashes and I’ve reached for it almost everyday that I do my makeup. This mascara doesn’t clump up or flake of my lashes and unless I’m doing some really heavy-duty sweating there’s no transfer to my upper lid like some mascaras do.
Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black
I’ve found winged eyeliner extremely hard and I generally steer very clear of any liner because I find it makes my eyes look small and I always seem to ruin an amazing eye shadow job with wonky, crooked and uneven wings. I finally decided to try gel liner after getting really frustrated with using the Stila Stay-All-Day felt tip liner and the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. I heard amazing reviews on the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner so I finally bought it and I can’t believe I didn’t try it sooner. I already had an angled liner brush, from a brush kit that I had never used before, which worked much better than the brush the liner comes with. I find I can get a really thin and precise ultra black wing that doesn’t budge. I have pretty watery eyes and every other liquid liner has usually worn off at the outer corners of my eyes when they water but this liner is totally water and tear proof. I 100% recommend this liner because of the amazing quality and it’s price point!
