I have a lot of favourites this month, some products are brand new to me and some are old faithful’s, so let’s dive right in!
I decided to add a few music and tv show favourites into my monthly favourites this month, let me know in the comments if you like other favourites in with my beauty favourites or not and anything you’d like me to add.
Becca, Backlight Priming Filter
I have been using this product every single day since I bought it. I have tried this product under makeup as a primer and mixed with foundation for an even more luminous finish, I have also used this product on its own on “no makeup” days. My favourite way to use this product is on its own, there are no chunky sparkles in this product but it gives a beautiful healthy sheen to the skin and makes you look very “Victoria Secret Angel”. I love the packaging on this product and I use about two pumps on my whole face by itself or one pump mixed with foundation.
Anastasia Beverly Hills, Glow Kit in That Glow
I have a lot of highlighters in my collection and I try a lot of new products out regularly and this one is a product that I have wanted to try out for a while. Living in Canada makes it really difficult to get my hands on new beauty products because of the high exchange rate and shipping costs to get products from the States. Although I have purchased a lot of products from the States I try to wait until they come to Canadian Sephoras. Anastasia Beverly Hills recently launched a very wide range of their products in Canadian Sephoras and I purchased this Glow Kit the day it was stocked online. I love mixing the three lightest shades and using them individually. I haven’t used the darkest bronze shade but it looks perfect for ladies with darker complexions or possibly for an eyeshadow. The price point might seem high for this product but when you think about it you’re really getting four highlights for a few dollars more than you would pay for a single Becca Cosmetics highlight.
Make Up For Ever, Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer in 25I
This bronzer has been raved about by tonnes of YouTube beauty gurus and bloggers for a while and I finally purchased it. I love this bronzer because it’s more warm toned than cool and gives the skin a sunkissed, tanned look rather than a cool ashy shadowing. I wouldn’t use this product for contouring but as a bronzer to warm up the face it is really beautiful and natural. The packaging of this product is really pretty and I think the swirls in the product look really cool. This product has a creamy consistency but once it is applied to the skin it becomes powdery and very blendable.
MAC, Prep and Prime Fix + Spray
This product is an old faithful of mine. This is perfect for wetting makeup brushes to make eyeshadows more intense and for setting face makeup to reduce any powdery look and set makeup so it lasts longer. I’ve also used this spray as a refreshing mist throughout the day if I think my skin needs a bit more moisture. I’ve tried a few makeup setting sprays and this one is by far my all time favourite. The reason this product works so well is because it contains glycerin, glycerin is an ingredient that helps makeup adhere to the skin better. I sometimes spray this product on my makeup sponge when I blend out my concealer and foundation, I find it looks more blended and dewy and keeps the products from looking cakey. You can also spray this product on your face before applying makeup as a primer to hydrate your skin and prep it for makeup. I personally notice a bigger difference if I use this product after applying makeup rather than before.
Urban Decay, Naked Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Fair Neutral
I’ve been testing out a few new concealers lately and this is by far one of my favourites besides the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD concealer. This product blends undetectably into the skin and is really full coverage to cancel out dark under eye circles. The shade I have of this concealer is a shade or two lighter than my skin so it works really well to brighten certain areas of my face. The flexible doe foot applicator makes it really easy to deposit product where I want it and the perfect amount of product comes out on the applicator so I don’t have to dip back into the tube to get more.
Milani, Baked Blush in Luminoso
This is the blush I have been wearing every day lately. This blush is a peachy colour that is unlike any other colour I have in my collection. This blush has a bit of a sheen to it which makes the skin look glowy and healthy. This product has great pigmentation and has just as good quality as my other higher end blushes. I also love that the top of the packaging is clear so I can see the colour of the blush unlike my NARS blushes that are super frustrating to look through and read the backs until I find the one I’m looking for. I could not find this blush in a Shoppers Drug Mart but I did find it in my local Zehrs.
Some of my favourite songs this month are, Fifth Harmony’s Work From Home and The Life, Zara Larsson and MNEK’s Never Forget You, and Lukas Graham’s 7 Years.
My current favourite tv show that I am binge watching on Netflix is Supernatural.
