I love this product but am disappointed with it as well, read my review to see why.
This purchase is really new for me but I have used it every day since I got it and I can tell it will be a favourite for a while. First, let me say that the reason I am disappointed in this product does not have anything to do with the product itself but rather the way in which I purchased it. Buying this palette on the Canadian Sephora website was the biggest disaster I have ever seen and it was the most frustrating ordeal I have ever been through to buy makeup. The Sweet Peach palette was supposed to be sold online at Sephora.com and Sephora.ca on March 29th but the time was not released. I, just like other Americans and Canadians were up since midnight on March 29th refreshing the Sephora website, waiting for it to be stocked. I continued to refresh the page all morning but because I was at work and couldn’t stay glued to my phone, my VERY loving boyfriend signed into my account from his computer and refreshed the page for me from about 9 AM to 2 PM that day. The American Sephora website stocked the palette at 12 PM EST but the Canadian site did not stock the palette until the following day. I gave up at about 10 PM but luckily woke up in the middle of the night to see that it had been stocked on the Canadian Sephora website. Many frustrated Canadians stuck it out to purchase the palette and luckily I got my hands on it at 4 AM on March 30th, although I believe it was really stocked at 2 AM on March 30th, but everyone was asleep by then after staying up the previous day. Sephora told customers mixed things and repeatedly told customers that the palette was already released and they must have missed it, which was definitely not the case. I found this to be poor customer service on Sephora’s part and I really think they should review the way they release limited edition products in the future.
With all that being said, let’s get on with my review of the palette itself. I am totally in love with the shades in this palette and I have already created looks that are soft and daytime appropriate as well as darker and dramatic. I am really impressed with the quality of these shadows and it really does smell like peaches and it actually tastes like it too, yes I did, in fact, taste the eyeshadow. I haven’t dipped into the really dark colours yet but looking at the swatches of them has given me great ideas for some new looks. I generally like to stick towards the more neutral colours and looks so it’ll be good for me to step out of my comfort zone. The packaging of this product is absolutely adorable and pretty sturdy, yet slim, it’ll be great to travel with because it has everything you need from matte transition colours, highlight colours and dark statement colours to beautiful shimmery all over lid colours. My favourite shades in this palette are Peaches and Cream, Summer Yum, Nectar, and Luscious.
I’m hoping that my review of this product helps you guys decide if you’ll be purchasing it in stores on April 15.
